Divine Heart Principle

This text reviews Heavenly Parent’s purpose of creation or the Divine Heart Principle—the Heart Principle, for short—and the broad-stroke examination of “restoration history” since the human Fall. The Heart Principle is the sex/gender-balanced revision, correction, and expansion of the Divine Principle, the teaching of Reverend Sun Myung Moon, which is male-centered and too limited in scope to be a balanced understanding of His/Her purpose creation. Reverend Sun-Myung Moon and his wife, Hak-Ja Han, are the heads of the Unification Movement, and Ye-Jin Moon (YJM), the author of this text, is their firstborn or First Daughter.

As the central figures of the “providence” of restoration history in the twentieth (20^th) century, Father/Mother Moon initially had the responsibility to recover the Heart Principle, which is His/Her “absolute standard” of the “purpose of creation” that was lost to humanity due to the first man/first woman or Adam/Eve’s human Fall. Then, with the recovered Heart Principle and centering on Heavenly Parent, they were to deliver from the true individual foundation, true family foundation, true clan foundation, and true nation foundation to true worldwide foundation by the end of the twentieth (20^th) century and to embark on the true cosmic level foundation at the beginning of the twenty-first (21^st) century. As the central figures, Father/Mother Moon had to first recover the lost Heart Principle before putting it into practice for themselves, so that all others could imitate and follow their true example, allowing the acceptable restoration course to proceed. The need for such work of restoration became necessary owing to Adam/Eve’s Fall, which prompted their children or humanity’s loss of His/Her Heart Principle or the purpose of creation, at the center of which is every human being’s “sum total” value of the entire creation and one’s responsibility to be a true child to Him/Her; to be true sibling to rest of humanity; to be true spouse to one’s sole spouse of the opposite sex/gender; to be true parent to one’s children; and to be true steward over the rest of creation.

Father Moon worked with his early Korean disciples to produce various versions of the Divine Principle during his lifetime. After Father Moon’s ascension to the spiritual world in 2012, Mother Moon employed her team of Korean Unificationists to produce such texts as the second edition of Cheon Seong Gyeong (Heavenly Holy Scripture in English) and Chambumo Gyeong (Holy Scripture of the True Parents in English), which are her expansion and reinterpretation of some of the basic teachings of the Divine Principle. Nevertheless, since both Father/Mother Moon and their Korean disciples largely came from Christian and Confucian backgrounds, where God in Christianity and the “Supreme Being” in Confucianism are understood as male, their elaboration of the Divine Principle remained predominantly male-centered, lacking a sex/gender-balanced understanding of Divinity as well as humanity. Moreover, since both Father/Mother Moon’s theology is heavily influenced by the Christian “messianic” concept of viewing Jesus as either fully god/fully human or any mixture of god/human, they adapted such messianic thought into their theology of themselves being the “True Parents of Heaven, Earth, and Humankind.” This is problematic, as they have elevated themselves to semi-divine beings, unrelated to the Heavenly Parent who has entrusted equal human value/responsibility to every human being.

As such, no matter how much both Father/Mother Moon have endeavored during their course doing other projects, since they could not recover the very starting point of the restoration, which is the Heart Principle, their work could not reveal the complete identity of Heavenly Parent as the sex/gender-balanced and equally empowered Heavenly Father/Heavenly Mother, thereby opening the way of sex/gender and dual positionally balanced, complete restoration of humanity and the entire creation. Following this regrettable reality, the need has arisen to briefly explain in Chapter 9 that when Father/Mother Moon could not recover the Heart Principle, it then became their First Daughter or the author’s providential responsibility to struggle to recover and convey it to others during her course.

Chapter 1 of this text deals with the foundational logic of the Heart Principle or Heavenly Parent’s purpose of creation.

Once the basics of the Heart Principle are understood in Chapter 1, the next step is to apply it to review the deeds of the central providential figures, who should act on behalf of the 5 percent human portion of the responsibility, influencing the fate of humanity on the collective-level. Hence, Chapter 2 deals with the acts of Adam/Eve, the first man/woman Heavenly Parent alone created without human parents and gave the entire creation with the hope that they would fulfill the 5 percent human portion, which is equivalent to perfecting the whole creation in His/Her Ideal.

Chapter 3 follows Noah/his wife and their family’s course, which could not rectify the failures of Adam/Eve’s family and ultimately became the Second Try worldwide/cosmic-level course, which was also not accomplished.

Chapter 4 traces Abraham/Sarah’s Abel-position three-generational clan-level course that would eventually produce the central figures for the Third Try worldwide/cosmic-level course, who happened to become Jesus/his intended bride.

Chapter 5 reviews the children of Abraham/Sarah or the Israelites’ national-level course, which could not begin until the Israelites paid the indemnity period of “four hundred thirty years” of slavery in Egypt for particular failures that occurred during Abraham/Sarah’s Abel-position three-generational clan-level course.

Chapter 6 examines Jesus/his intended bride, and their prospective family’s course at the level of providential expectation for the Third Try worldwide/cosmic-level course.

Chapter 7 surveys some of the consequences of the non-deliverance and incompletion of what became Jesus/his bride’s 3T-1A worldwide/cosmic-level course during the two thousand (2000) years of the Christian indemnity period before the 3T-2A course in the twentieth (20^th) century.

Chapter 8 deals with the “Second Coming”/his bride’s 3T-2A worldwide/cosmic-level course in the twentieth (20^th) century, centering on Father/Mother Moon, their family, and the people of the Movement.

Chapter 9 explains the heart-principled, true-love logic that when Father/Mother Moon neglected to carry out their specific providential mission of complete restoration, how it was possible for their First Daughter, YJM, to at least accomplish what would have been the initial part of their mission or the recovery of the Heart Principle by going through successive indemnity courses and finally linking their failed 3T-2A to that of the 3T-3A worldwide/cosmic-level course involving multi-generations.

Chapter 10 discusses some of the consequences of the incompletion of the 3T-2A worldwide/cosmic-level course, even if the possibility for an extension course or the 3T-3A involving multi-generations has been made.

Given all the above, restoration history, which is not Heavenly Parent’s Ideal history but one that endeavors to restore or undo the wrongs committed by the human portion, is still being written by the deeds of the central figures of humanity’s internal lineage. In the meantime, until the complete restoration by the deeds of those included in the 3T-3A worldwide/cosmic-level course involving multi-generations, provided that the indemnity conditions that have been plaguing humanity since the time of Adam/Eve’s family’s human Fall have not been restored or undone, they will continue to afflict and tempt humanity with similar conditions. However, at least we now have the basics of Heavenly Parent’s absolute Heart Principle revealed, which means every human being could at least start making individual/collective endeavors, not only to make no more unprincipled choices on the individual-level but also to mitigate the indemnity conditions coming from their immediate or external lineages on the collective-level until the complete restoration. This must be done with each person of humanity making some form of continuous endeavor working toward the greater collective good of all, since the providential timing we currently inhabit is comparable to when the entire humanity as “one family” from the first human couple, Adam/Eve, whom He/She alone created, shares the same collective-level fate at the worldwide/cosmic-level.
