Divine Heart Principle

A/E: A shortened form, indicating Adam/Eve together.

Absolute Standard of Goodness or Standard of Goodness: The absolute ethical/moral criteria concerning good/bad, true/false standard for three different types of creations—ones with the spiritual-only creations, the highest of which are angels, ones with the physical-only creations, the highest of which are animals, and human beings with both spiritual/physical-selves.

Adam’s Single Sin versus Eve’s Double Sin: Due to our inseparable dual—individual/collective—positioned existential identity, Adam/Eve’s dissimilar sexual sins at the individual-level affected mankind/womankind differently. That is, for Adam’s single sexual sin with fallen Eve, mankind, as in male-humanity on the collective-level received a single sexually sinful status. For Eve’s double sexual sins, the first sexual sin was with an angel, a lower creation, and without restoration, having committed the second sexual sin with Adam, womankind received a double sexually sinful status on the collective-level. However, this should be distinguished from the consequences of Adam/Eve’s human Fall, which equally compromised both mankind/womankind, causing them to fall below other creations. This is because even though Adam, on the individual-level, did not commit double sins, by uniting with the unrestored Eve, he became indirectly implicated in Eve’s sins on the collective-level. Similarly, even though mankind on the individual-level received from Adam a single sinful status, by Adam having united with the unrestored Eve, mankind also became indirectly implicated in Eve’s double sin that womankind had inherited on the collective-level as well.

Cain/Abel Unequal Position: The failures of the first human beings in Adam/Eve’s family created human inequality. The initiating cause was Adam/Eve’s dissimilar indirect/direct sexual sins on the individual-level with an angel, a lower creation. However, once Adam/Eve failed in their parental responsibility toward their children, Cain/Abel, and consequently Cain killed Abel, the restoration of their family’s failures, representing the entire humanity to come through them, was delayed. Hence, until the next worldwide/cosmic-level providential timing for complete restoration, the Cain/Abel unequal position has been the operating formula for dividing humanity into unequal status at every level.

Collective Extension: No creation is simply an individual entity but has an inseparable dual—individual/collective—positioned existential identity. Accordingly, the collective extension constitutes the continuation of the lineage.

Collective Reality: Dual worlds of spiritual and physical combined.

Cosmic 4PF: Cosmic refers to the combined dual worlds of spiritual/physical. Heavenly Parent’s symbolic Six Stages of the Creative Process equate to His/Her 95 percent of the creative portion, the end creation of which was the first human beings of Adam/Eve. The remaining 5 percent—the Seventh Stage of the Creative Process—is left to human beings to perfect, thereby maintaining the balance/harmony of the Cosmic 4PF.

Divine Heart Principle (DHP) or Heart Principle: The Heavenly Parent of Heavenly Father/Heavenly Mother’s sex/gender balanced absolute Ideology or the purpose of creation. It is called the Heart Principle, since Heavenly Parent’s Heart represents the Dual position of Purpose and Love.

Divine Principle (DP): Father Moon’s main theological text in various versions, primarily written and compiled by his disciples.

Dual Position: A part of the 4PF at the level of the Dual Division. Since the Heavenly Parent’s purpose of creation is not to clone identical creations but to multiply different creations that originate from Him/Her, the Origin, both sides of the Dual Position share commonalities and differences.

External Knowledge: The posterior side of Heavenly Parent’s internal/external dual-positioned knowledge manifested through the Creative Process. Because it shares the posterior side with other posterior sides of Dual Positions, such as the true-love multiplicative side of the heart-principled, true-love multiplicative Dual Position and the physical side of the spiritual/physical Dual Position, it explains how Heavenly Parent created the physical world according to specific physical laws, primarily through scientific understanding. At the same time, however, since it is in the posterior side between the internal/external knowledge Dual Position, it must first be grounded in the internal knowledge, which shares the prior side with the heart-principled side of heart-principled, true-love multiplication of the Implementing Dual Position.

F/M: A shortened form, indicating Father/Mother Moon together.

FD: A shortened form of the First Daughter.

First Try Worldwide/Cosmic-Level Course or First Try: Owing to Adam/Eve’s human Fall on behalf of humanity to come through them, the time of Adam/Eve’s family became the First Try worldwide/cosmic-level course.

Five Roles of the Three Blessings: Based on the Three Blessings in Genesis 1:28, these correspond to a 5 percent human portion in co-creating the Heavenly Parent’s Ideal of creation through human perfection at both the individual/collective-levels. The First Role or the First Blessing is to be a true child of Heavenly Parent. The Second Role within the Second Blessing is to be a true sibling to the rest of humanity, including one’s immediate siblings. The Third Role within the Second Blessing is to be a true spouse to one’s sole spouse of the opposite sex/gender. The Fourth Role within the Second Blessing involves being a true parent by raising ideal children and becoming a true child to human parents, forming an interconnected relationship. The Fifth Role or the Third Blessing is to be a true steward to the rest of the spiritual-only and physical-only creations.

FM: A shortened form for Father Moon.

Foundation of Faith and Foundation of Substance or Foundation of Faith/Substance: The Foundation of Faith is having faith/belief in the Heart Principle, which is in the prior position to Foundation of Substance, which in turn is in the posterior position. This is because, in the Ideal, the Foundation of Faith in the Heart Principle should be the basis on which a person or people act, thereby forming heart-principled true-love unity and creating the Foundation of Substance as the consequential result of the belief in realization. Additionally, the Foundation of Faith/Substance should be established at both the individual and collective-levels.

Four Position Foundation (4PF): One of the fundamental concepts in both Father Moon’s Divine Principle and the Divine Heart Principle, also known as the Heart Principle. It is the basic multiplicative formula in Heavenly Parent’s Creative Process through Origin-Division-Union Action.

Heavenly Parent of Heavenly Father/Heavenly Mother: Once God the Origin, innately possessing balanced and harmonious masculine/feminine sides within, chose to create, culminating in human beings in His/Her complete image as the sum of the whole creation, God became the Heavenly Parent of Heavenly Father/Heavenly Mother to human beings.

Human Beings: Among the three types of creations, each human being is a culmination of the entire creative effort in the Heavenly Parent’s complete image, possessing both a spiritual-self (subdivided into spiritual mind/spiritual body) and a physical-self (subdivided into physical mind/physical body). Accordingly, only a human being is eligible to be His/Her true child, with Him/Her as the Ultimate True Parent. For the other two types of creations (spiritual-only and physical-only), imitating only one side of His/Her image, their relationship with Him/Her is that of Creator to creations. This is also the reason human beings have the most tremendous responsibility to co-create His/Her Ideal of creation, thereby sustaining the Cosmic 4PF of balance/harmony throughout the whole creation through human perfection.

Humanity’s Internal Lineage: Following Adam/Eve’s family’s human Fall, what should have been a single human lineage became divided into the Cain/Abel-position of external/internal lineages during restoration history. The central figures and those acting on behalf of humanity in the Abel-position assumed humanity’s internal lineage. On the other hand, the external lineage is recognized as the immediate lineage, for example, when individuals share a common surname.

Implementing Dual—Heart-Principled/True-Love Multiplicative—Position: Once Heavenly Parent chose to create, this is the basic dual-positioned multiplicative formula He/She used to generate creations into reality. Before creation, He/She first erected His/Her Ideology or Heart Principle for three dissimilar types of creations with different creative purposes, setting the good/bad or true/false standards for each type of creation. Then, based upon it, He/She brought forth creation, substantiating the heart-principled/true-love multiplication for each type of creation. Since the overall purpose of creation is for Him/Her to co-create with each creation’s 5 percent free-willed portion, each creation initially has free will, whether to follow His/Her example of heart-principled/true-love multiplication for its creative purpose or not.

Indemnity: A condition of restitution that must be paid by the individual who made an unprincipled choice, and possibly by their connected lineages and people of similar inclinations on the collective-level, if the initial person failed to restore it before ascending to the spiritual world. The absolute standard of goodness applicable to three types of creations with different creative purposes is already outlined in the Creative Process. As such, if a creation, with free will, chooses an unprincipled or bad/evil choice, an indemnity will automatically follow; it is the way for the creation to take responsibility for the bad/evil choice and gain a chance to return to Heavenly Parent’s Ideal.

Inseparable Dual—Individual/Collective—Positioned Existential Identity: All in creation are not just individual entities but also a part of the collective.

Internal knowledge: The prior side of Heavenly Parent’s internal/external dual-positioned knowledge manifested through the Creative Process. Since it shares the prior side with other prior sides of Dual Positions, such as the Heart Principle side of heart-principled, true-love multiplicative Implementing Dual Position and spiritual side of spiritual/physical Dual position, internal knowledge must be based upon the Heart Principle to explain the existence and dynamics of the spiritual world, including the spiritual-self side in human beings, with both spiritual-self/physical-self, and how it interacts with the physical world.

Jeungsung: “Jeungsung” is a Korean term meaning sincere prayers and truthful efforts.

Merit of the Age: Both the Divine Principle and the Divine Heart Principle use this term to denote the degree of growth in humanity’s knowledge of the Heavenly Parent’s internal and external knowledge, which humanity lost through the human Fall. Divine Principle assumes that internal and external knowledge progress in tandem toward higher levels. However, this is not the case from the heart-principled vantage point of restoration history, which holds that changes in internal and external knowledge, or in the merit of any age, may progress at an uneven, unbalanced pace.

MM: A shortened form for Mother Moon.

Origin-Division-Union Action: The fundamental multiplicative process to form the 4PF in both Divine Principle and Divine Heart Principle.

Original Sin: Adam/Eve’s failure to accomplish the 5 percent human portion to co-create Heavenly Parent’s Ideal of creation through fulfillment of all Five Roles of the Three Blessings, which necessarily includes appropriate human sexual behavior. They had to establish the first true examples of human perfection for all humanity to imitate and practice. However, when they failed, the whole of humanity was implicated in the Original Sin on the collective-level. Given this, Original Sin, which affects all of humanity, can only begin to be restored at the time of the worldwide/cosmic-level course, when the central figures recover the Heart Principle and, with it, succeed in the step-by-step restoration mission.

Physical-Only Creations: One of the three types of creations, with only the physical-self, further subdivided into physical mind/physical body. The highest of these types of creations are the animals.

Prior and Posterior Positions within Dual Positions: All Dual Positions follow the sequential progression of prior to posterior positions in imitation of Heavenly Parent’s movement from Origin/Cause (prior to creation) to Effect/Collective (posterior to having decided to create) Positions, which cannot be reversed. Moreover, differing Dual Positions share commonality with the corresponding prior or posterior sides of other Dual Positions.

Restoration History: Human history that is not Heavenly Parent’s Ideal history, but one that is an attempt to restore or undo the wrongs committed by the human portion. Since the time of the human Fall, the entire history of the fallen world has been a history of restoration.

Second Try Worldwide/Cosmic-Level Course or Second Try: Noah/his wife, and their family’s course.

Sinners Among All Sinners to Date: The more the restoration history is prolonged with continual failures of the central people, the subsequent central people are in the position of sinners among all sinners to date, burdened with all the unrestored indemnity conditions accumulated in human history, which they are responsible for restoring or undoing on behalf of humanity.

Spiritual-Only Creations: One of the three types of creations, with only the spiritual-self, further subdivided into spiritual mind/spiritual body. The highest of these types of creations are the angels.

Third Try-Second Attempt (3T-2A) Worldwide/Cosmic-Level Course: Father/Mother Moon, their family, and the people of the Movement’s worldwide/cosmic-level expectational course during the twentieth century.

Third Try-Third Attempt (3T-3A) Worldwide/Cosmic-Level Course: Although Father/Mother Moon’s 3T-2A course could not succeed in its restoration requirements on time, since their First Abel-Position Daughter, YJM, coming from the same lineages as Father/Mother Moon, was able to establish a specific foundation, an extension course of the 3T-3A course became a possibility.

Third Try Worldwide/Cosmic-Level Course or Third Try, Which Ended Up Becoming the Third Try-First Attempt (3T-1A) Course: The timing of Jesus/his bride and their prospective family’s course was at the providential expectation of the Third Try worldwide/cosmic-level course. However, Jesus’ premature death resulted from the collective-level failures of those who were supposed to support him/his bride, as well as their prospective family’s course. Nevertheless, Jesus’ last choice—the individual, male-sided, spiritual offering—ultimately determined the course, which became the 3T-1A course within the Third Try.

Wilderness Course: A conditional, symbolic number of years’ course of indemnity, which must be paid for by the current central figures, most often away from their former place of dwelling, where the previous providential predecessors had committed unprincipled choices.

Worldwide/Cosmic-Level Course: The providential timing when complete restoration of the entire Collective Reality can be realized.
